By day, Dan Summers is postman working in Wakefield, but in his spare time he has been working on his skills as cyber security professional and his hard work has paid off, for he has become the UK’s first Cyber Security Champion!
The security minister Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones was on hand to give out the awards, which for the winner was £6.000 worth of training guaranteed to change his life.
According to the Cyber Security Challenge UK winner, Dan Summers, “This was the most intense and rewarding experience of my life,”
“Having met the people in the industry and seeing how capable and welcoming they are, I’d love to work alongside them so I’ll be looking closely at all the opportunities that have developed as a result of my involvement with the challenge.”
Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones said, “We can now look forward to growth of the Cyber Crime Challenge,”
“It’s been 10 months since the challenge was created… Could we make it a success? I think it jolly well has been one.”
