Remember Internet Explorer 6, it used to be a browser back in 2001, but apparently some folks are so cool about it that they are still using this old browser. Personally, I cannot remember how bad or good it was, a decade is long time on the internet!
Anyway, Microsoft is calling time on the browser and as such is urging people to warn their family and friends about using such an old browser. However, it seems that many tech aware people are recommending that computer users upgrade their IE6 to other browsers such as Firefox or even Google Chrome.
Microsoft is probably not that bothered about the switchover, as they have IE9 in bag, which is not too bad by all accounts. Anyway to help users Microsoft have created a special Countdown website where it is hoped that the overall usage can get to below one per cent, currently it stands at twelve per cent!
This is the message that Microsoft are trying to get across to computer users;
Friends don’t let friends use Internet Explorer 6. And neither should acquaintances. Educate others about moving off of Internet Explorer 6
