This time last year if we said that Microsoft would have the fastest selling controller free gaming device, you might have laughed, you definitely would not believe it and if the truth be known the guys at Microsoft may not have believed it either.
However, fast forward a year and here we are, the Kinect device from Microsoft has sold over ten million units worldwide and have created a nice new official world record for themselves into the bargain.
According to Gaz Deaves, Editor of Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition, “The sales figures here speak for themselves. We can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector,”
It is one thing having the world record, but just image all of that cash, ten million units at £128 a go, that is a nice bit of revenue for Microsoft and its partners on this project.
