Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) are planning the second launch of its space vehicle, but this time it will be part of the agreement with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to supply cargo to the International Space Station (ISS), which is said to be worth around $1.6 billion!
According to the Virgin Galactic CEO George Whitesides, as he spoke to VentureBeat.com;
“I think it’s a really exciting time for space, because for the first time in several decades we had a very real prospect of fielding multiple human space vehicles. That’s good for the U.S., it encourages innovation and also provides more than one option, which means it’s more reliable.”
SpaceX is one of two firms with the contract to supply the ISS over twelve missions, the other firm being Orbital Sciences.
