The Coat That Recycles Rainwater

This is the Raincatch it is a design by Hyeona Yang and Joshua Noble from the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) in Denmark. They created this coat for backpackers who spend days, weeks even months on the road, but cannot carry enough drinking water due to the weight. Will it make it into production; we hope so because this is a real cool looking coat.

Anyone who is a fan of the 1965 Science Fiction story “Dune” by Frank Herbert, will recognise this from the desert planet Arrakis, the suit is used to recycle liquids and provide the wearer with life saving water. Of course, this coat is just a prototype; by there are so many ways and circumstances where this can work.
