The micro blogging site Twitter has announced on the company blog that they have added five more languages (simplified and traditional Chinese, Hindi, Tagalog and Malay) to the Twitter Translation Centre taking the total up to seventeen.
However, it does not stop there as the firm will be adding a further six languages to the Translation Centre, these will be; Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish and Hungarian. As with many of these translation services Twitter relies of the services of volunteers to get involved check out the Twitter Translation Centre.
According to the post on the Twitter blog page;
Twitter now fully supports 17 languages. Our crowd-sourced translation process relies on a dedicated community of volunteer translators to both translate and moderate twitter.com, support pages, Twitter apps and more. Many thanks to our 290,000 (and counting) volunteer translators.
