How To Save Battery Power While Using Wi-Fi

Smartphone’s are great most of us couldn’t do without one these days, but the batteries just aren’t up to the job so wouldn’t it be great if there were a way to increase the battery life over fifty per cent! Well it seems that there could be and the key to this is E-MiLi, or Energy-Minimizing Idle Listening, researchers have already been working on this method of power management that actually slows down the rate of which Wi-Fi is delivered to the device and therefore it save power, lots of power!

According to Computer science and engineering professor Kang Shin;

“This idle listening often consumes as much power as actively sending and receiving messages all day,”

He added;

“We came up with a clever idea,”

So is this going to work?

“Usually, messages come with a header, and we thought the phone could be enabled to detect this, as you can recognize that someone is calling your name even if you’re 90 percent asleep.”
