It is not the best week for Sony and we are only half way through it. However, so far, Sony has had to freeze online gaming accounts and now they have had to issue a recall for 1.6 million Sony Bravia flat panel televisions. These hit the market back in 2007 and apparently, there is a component that can easily melt and catch fire! These forty inch sets were sold in America, China, Europe and the Middle East, but anyone thinking that they are going to get a new TV had better think again because all Sony will do is replace the offending part if needed, that’s it!
According to Yuki Shima, a Tokyo-based spokeswoman for Sony Corp, she said;
Sony recalled the liquid-crystal display TVs after a September incident in which a customer noticed a small fire and smoke. Eleven incidents have been reported in Japan since 2008, according to a company statement, and no injuries have been reported.
