It seems that some Blackberry users are thinking about switching devices following the recent outage on the Research In Motion (RIM) system, leaving users without any of the Blackberry services including email!
Product comparison site Kelkoo has conducted a survey of a thousand Blackberry users and it seems that around twenty per cent are ready to switch right now! So that’s good for the competition, even better is that forty two per cent will think about it later and eight per cent already have a another device!
One thing is for sure, Blackberry have screwed it up here and one of the main reasons for customer dissatisfaction is lack of information from RIM, no excuses just what happened and why, would be good to start with!
According to Chris Simpson, who is the chief marketing officer at Kelkoo, he said;
“This week has been incredibly difficult for BlackBerry users worldwide. However, BlackBerry offers a market-leading product with a unique service, which nearly a third of consumers admit they will not find with any other manufacturer. As such, it has a loyal following and this will stand it in good stead to retain customers. Whilst our research highlights that some consumers intend to jump the BlackBerry ship, it could be a very different picture in the coming months when this week’s issues become a distant memory.”
