The mobile phone and broadband service provider O2 has begun testing a super fast mobile broadband system offering 4G long term evolution broadband (LTE) service. The service will be rolled out in London up to June of next year. A 4G LTE network when running properly is well capable of being able to offer users download speeds of up to 100 Mbps, which is a lot faster than many fixed line broadband providers are offering.
According to Ronan Dunne, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica UK, he said;
“Today’s launch of the UK’s first 4G London trial network demonstrates our commitment to delivering 4G to our customers at the earliest opportunity,”
“The work we are doing now will lay the foundations for our commercial 4G network when it launches in the UK.”
