Popular Sites Fight Against Censorship

If you visit Tumblr, Firefox, Reddit and some other sites too, you may notice that there are blacked out parts, this is where content providers are hoping that the individual visitor to sites will be able to speak up against the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PROTECT-IP acts that could threaten freedom on the internet. These are some of the words that accompany the video;

PROTECT-IP is a bill that has been introduced in the Senate and the House and is moving quickly through Congress. It gives the government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting “creativity”. The law would let the government or corporations censor entire sites– they just have to convince a judge that the site is “dedicated to copyright infringement.”
