Google Makes +1′s More Informative

It seems that the humble +1 has not been pulling it weight for Google and its users, so from now on +1 will become more visible, with circles, profiles, images and Gmail contacts all getting involved in the action! How this will make the whole +1 scene more useful is anyone’s guess at the moment, but no doubt Google do have a plan in the works.

According to Erich Schmidt, a Software Engineer at Google, he wrote in the Official Google Blog;

Starting today, the Spotlight section will sometimes include articles that your Gmail contacts and people in your Google+ circles have publicly +1’d. You can see their profile pictures and click through to their Google+ profiles, just like on Social Search. And of course you can +1 the stories too, expressing your opinion and optionally sharing with your circles.
