18th & 19th Century Newspaper Pages Available Online

The creation of the British Newspaper Archive has made around four million newspaper pages from the 18th and 19th century available online, it is free to access to the archive, but in order to view the pages there is a subscription. Either way the details available are very interesting and well worth the investment for anyone interesting in research etc.

According to Ed Vaizey, who is the Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, said that the archive is;

“A rich and hugely exciting resource”.

He finished off by saying;

“I searched for my own constituency of Wantage and within seconds had 42,000 results – an indication of the breadth and variety of material featured.”

The twelve Month Subscription is £79.96, the thirty day subscription is £29.95 and the starter two day package is just £6.95.
