Go along any high street or shopping mall and there will be phone shops that are quite literally giving away phones, so long as the consumer is willing to sign on the dotted line! But there was a time when mobile phone was so rare that people were willing to pay thousands for one, in fact during the mid 1980’s a huge Motorola phone would have cost a few thousand and they were not much good either, forget texting this was voice only!
