The search giant Google is investing a massive £60 ($94) Million into four solar energy farms in California, this is on top of the pledge that they will be installing solar photovoltaic (PV) onto the roofs of over ten thousand homes.
This is a good end to the year for Google who have made some careful investments in good projects recently, in fact according to some sources the company’s investments during 2011 will have had an effect on 27 million people worldwide, which just has to be good PR.
According to Axel Martinez, who is the Assistant Treasurer at Google Treasury, he said in a posting on the Official Google Blog;
“We believe investing in the renewable energy sector makes business sense and hope clean energy projects continue to attract new sources of capital to help the world move towards a more sustainable energy future,”
