US-based Security Firm Is Hacked By Activist Group Anonymous

The website run by the online security experts Stratfor, whose clients include the likes of the US defence department, several law enforcement agencies as well as some media organisations has been hacked by Anonymous. It is claimed by Anonymous that they were able to steal thousands of credit card details, emails and passwords from the website simply because Stratfor had not encrypted the data.

According to an email sent its members, Stratfor said;

“We have reason to believe that the names of our corporate subscribers have been posted on other web sites. We are diligently investigating the extent to which subscriber information may have been obtained.”
