Wikipedia Goes Dark But There Are Ways Around It

Currently the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia is in the middle of a twenty four hour black out to highlight its opposition to the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA), which is currently being considered in the US House of Representatives.

According to the Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, he said in a recent interview;

“This is a quite clumsily drafted legislation which is dangerous for an open Internet,”

He added;

“We’re happy to see opposition is building and that the White House has started to pay attention,”

Getting around the black out! It is quite easy to get around the black out though thanks to Google, simply search for your subject, find the Wikipedia page that you want, mouse over the double chevron button on the right and then click on “Cached” this will bring up the desired Wikipedia page, but you also consider the reasons behind the black out first.
