Drivers heading into London will be able to avoid traffic jams from now on by visiting the special Transport for London (TfL) traffic web pages where a new tool allows access to a hundred and seventy strategically placed web cameras in order to monitor the traffic situation in real time.
The TfL have also launched a Traffic News Twitter page that tweets traffic issues from 6.30 am to 9.00 pm, which is another of keeping informed of traffic issues on the roads of the capital city.
According to Garrett Emmerson, the chief operating officer for surface transport at TfL, said;
“Technology now allows us to put a wealth of information at motorists’ fingertips,”
He finished off by saying;
“Those who know their route well can now pre-empt any congested area by checking online before they set out on their journey, or – when safe – take advantage of our @TfLTrafficNews Twitter feed for advance warning of any congestion ahead,”
