Now There Really Are Magic Mirrors In Use

Augmented Reality (AR) has already been seen being used with mirrors; they were especially useful for Halloween! However, this concept has moved on a little and the artist Karolina Sobecka has come up with what she calls her “All the Universe is Full of the Lives of Perfect Creatures” feature, which essentially is a mirror that replaces the users face with realistic looking animal image!

According to the artist Karolina Sobecka, she said on her webpage that;

The images above show how the person looking in the mirror sees the animal image: as overlaid on their own reflection. For others, seeing this interaction from a different perspective, the animal head is offset, as in the video below. (The pictures were taken with the animal being offset for the viewer).

This is more technical than it seems, as it requires the use of Blender3d, FaceTracker, ofxFaceTracker, openFrameworks and Unity3d in order to make the effect look real.
