There were a lot of celebrations going on last week when Apple announced that the twenty five billionth app had been downloaded from the App Store, but until little has been known about who the winner was. Well it turns out that the winner of the $10,000 prize was Chunli Fu from Qingdao in China and it was a free app called “Where’s My Water” that features an alligator that goes by the name of Swampy!
According to Eddy Cue, who is the Apple senior vice president of Internet Software and Services;
“We’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded,”
He finished by saying;
“When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users.”
