We get to see plenty of cool ideas that are looking for funding through the crowd funding site Kickstarter, but this one has to be one of the best for a long time. It being run by a group of high school kids, who are doing this for their Maker Faire 2012 project.
The Viper is based on a cockpit from a small plane, but inside will be a Viper themed control set up and the craft will be able to turn through 360 degrees in pitch and roll turns. However, there is the issue of funding and that is where Kickstarter comes in, they are looking for backers with anything from $10 (£6.30) to $1,000 (£630) to invest.
These are the details on the project to design and build a proper simulator based on a Battlestar Galactica Viper;
Our Maker Faire project for 2012 is a Battlestar Galactica themed motion controlled flight simulator that is capable of 360 motion on two axes. See the-viper.org for more information, including how to donate to help us complete the project. The music (Heart of The Sun) is from Battlestar Galactica
