It was back in the later part of last year when we first heard of the plans by the Louvre in Paris to use Nintendo’s new 3DS games console to give visitors a better feel for the artworks. Now those plans have become reality and visitors to the gallery will be able to get a little extra detail on the exhibits as well as maps and of course 3D images of some of the classic works.
According to the Louvre’s director Henri Loyrette, he said at a press conference;
“Digital development has become a strategic issue for museums.”
He continued by saying;
“People’s habits have changed. But that offers us a huge opportunity to extend the museum’s territory, and build a lasting relationship with our visitors.”
