While the government and internet service providers (ISP’s) speak of super fast broadband for the UK perhaps they should have kept their eyes on what actually happening on the UK broadband network. According to a new report from Akamai, it seems that the instead of getting faster the average broadband speed for the UK is getting slower. The report shows that during the quarter before last the average broadband speed was 5.1 Mbps, whereas for last quarter the figure had dropped slightly to 4.9 Mbps.
According to the report, it said;
“The fourth quarter was not a good one for average connection speeds across Europe, as only two of the surveyed countries or regions saw higher speeds than in the prior quarter — quarterly losses were obviously more widespread across Europe than the Asia-Pacific region or the United States,”
