Yes, it is as good as it sounds and it is actually an attempt at breaking the world record too, so two cool things all rolled into one cool package. It is all the idea of Youtuber WorldScott, who set this up using a Spyder III Krypton in the 750mW – 1000mW power range! The balloons do not give up much resistance to laser light. However, as they get further away they seem to take just a little bit longer to burst. It all down to the Guinness Book of World Records now!
This is what the team behind the world record breaking attempt have to say about it;
Video recorded at http://cremeriedeparis.com/ International Exposition Center. Here is a world record submission video of 100 balloons falling like dominoes in a single file line. If confirmed, this will have been the most balloons in a single file line consecutively popped from end on with a single fixed visible laser beam to date.
Using a 750mW – 1000mW (1W) Spyder III Krypton Laser the record for single file balloon popping was set: 100 six inch (15.2 cm) balloons! This video has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records for officiation.
