Google Introduces The Knowledge Graph

The world’s largest search engine provider Google are always nipping and tucking the way it provides search results to users, the Knowledge Graph is yet another feature to help users get more from Google. Currently the service is being rolled out to US users, but eventually this service will be available for Smartphone and tablet users too, which in effect is what a feature like this is well suited for as it will enable the user to find out more about particular historic places and people, while on their travels.

According to a posting on the Official Google Blog by Amit Singhal, SVP, Engineering, he says;

The Knowledge Graph enables you to search for things, people or places that Google knows about—landmarks, celebrities, cities, sports teams, buildings, geographical features, movies, celestial objects, works of art and more—and instantly get information that’s relevant to your query. This is a critical first step towards building the next generation of search, which taps into the collective intelligence of the web and understands the world a bit more like people do.
