LOL With Googles Top Level Domain Names

Google has let it be known that they are interested in some of the more interesting top level domain names as they become available, so soon we could seeing web addresses ending with .lol, .google, .youtube and .docs. In fact, the Google domain name shopping list is about two thousands names long, with a price tag of $185,000 (£120,000) for each registration, that all adds up to fairly large but essential investment.

According to Vint Cerf, Googles Chief Internet Evangelist in a post on the Official Google Blog, he said;

We’re just beginning to explore this potential source of innovation on the web, and we are curious to see how these proposed new TLDs will fare in the existing TLD environment.
