The Apple 1 will go under the auction hammer on July 15th, this machine was hand built by Steve Wozniak himself and it was the first computer by Apple. This machine heralded the beginning of the roller coaster ride that made Steve Jobs into a design genius and Apple into the world most valuable company. The computer will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York where it is estimated it fetch up to $180,000 (£116,000), bargain!
According to the auction house Sotheby’s they say that the computer is;
“an exceptionally rare, working example with original Apple cassette interface, operation manuals and a rare BASIC Users’ Manual”.
“As the first ready-made personal computer, the Apple I signalled a new age in which computing became accessible to the masses,”
