The first thing that you will notice about the Pocket TV is that it is not actually a TV at all, it’s a dongle sized gadget that is plugged into the HDMI port of any TV no matter how old. Once this has been done the standard TV becomes a Smart TV powered by Android and able to access online content such as catch up TV, games and other services through web apps.
Here are some details on what the Pocket TV has to offer;
The Pocket TV is a small pocket-sized dongle that connects to the HDMI port of any regular TV (even your 5-year-old TV) and converts it into a Smart TV. It is basically a fully functioning micro-computer the size of your thumb, which runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) much like today’s latest Smartphone’s. The processing power in the Pocket TV will allow you to display Android on your TV turning it into a mega-sized tablet (just imagine a 50 inch iPad).
Infinitec are looking to retail the Pocket TV at around $160 or £103, but for backing the project on the crowd funding site Kickstarter for just $99 or £64 you can get your hands on one.
