Students from the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) have set up an interesting feature that spans across the harbour by turning tweets into Morse code. It is the idea of students at the CIID, Ana Catharina Marques (twitter.com/AnaCatharinaM), Kostantinos Frantzis (kfrantzis.com) and Markus Schmeiduch (smeidu.com) they use the #CPHsignals hash tag to get people involved and it works too!
Here is a little bit of information on the Morse code light signal installation;
This project is connecting two Copenhagen neighbourhoods using the old maritime technology of signal lamps and Morse code, combined with the modern network layer of twitter messages. Visit bit.ly/CPHsignals for more informations. A project for the Systems & Layers class at CIID (ciid.dk).
