A group of fans have been planning to save the set of the Enterprise D from Star Trek: The Next Generation, sure this is a real project and as with all of these ideas, they need cash! However, apart from that, this is a dream project for any fan of Star Trek: TNG, just imagine sitting in Picard’s chair or operating the tactical console during an attack by the Borg!
These are the details from the projects pitch to raise funds through the site Indie Go Go;
This is a NON PROFIT mission By Fans, For Fans, to completely restore the STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION D Bridge Set that Paramount created for display after the original set was destroyed for the film “STAR TREK: GENERATIONS”.
This duplicate set was created under the supervision of Herman Zimmerman and Michael Okuda. Once completed, it will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC for Meetings, Movie Showings, Fund Raisers, Tours, Fan Filming, anything! Our INDIEGOGO Campaign will be continuing until early December, with new items constantly being added.
In order to make this project so, the team are using the crowd funding site Indie GoGo, where backers can pledge any amount up to $4,000 (£2,500) to get involved.
