The credit card sized Raspberry PI computer is so versatile that we have seen in being incorporated into many devices, but until now, there has not been a robot controlled by the Raspberry PI! Introducing the Rapiro, its robot that has been made from components produced in a 3D printer and once it has been built, it is now ready to be programmed to complete a wide range of tasks according to the builders requirements! Could Rapiro be the beginning of a small robot army, possibly but you are more likely seeing it helping out around the office or home!
According to the designer Shota Ishiwatari;
I believe that RAPIRO can be a catalyst between robotics and Raspberry Pi. We want to start a revolution in cute, cool, affordable, customizable, and programmable robots. If we are successful in our kickstarter, we will publish 3D data (.stl) on our website, allowing you to customize the RAPIRO with a 3D printer.
The Rapiro is not on sale just yet, but can be obtained by pledging around $355 (£230) on the Kickstarter site.
