This is the Glowdeck, it might look a bit like a music system but it is much more to it than meets the eye. There are four main features to the GlowDeck; the first is that is a wireless smartphone charger with USB port for wired if required. The help of a low energy Bluetooth connection it can stream voice and audio through the high quality speakers. The built in LED lighting system provides the user with a 56 multi colour light array for alerts and notifications. Finally, as mentioned earlier it streams, but not just voice and music it will stream just about anything that runs through the users smartphone and to make it even more interesting the app is customisable to the users own specifications. Well it is clear that the Glowdeck is a great looking device and offers a lot of features, so let us take a closer look at the specs.
First of all it uses the low energy Bluetooth 4.0 FCC/CE certified audio module to connect the smartphone, it has a wireless range of up to 100 feet (30m) so it’s great for a number of situations. As expected, it comes with a high fidelity stereo audio system with an embedded dynamic range microphone and there are two 5W full range speaker drivers for a crisp and clear sound. Other features include the high power class D amplifier, with 101 dB SNR (A weighted), 0.03% THD+N and 67 dB min PSRR. The Glowdeck could be launching as early as this summer and although there are no retail prices available, it can be pre ordered. Prices start from $180 for the black acrylic finish and go up to $259 for the limited edition cherry wood version.
