For almost twenty years we have been hearing about paperless offices and yet if you go in many offices they are tripping over paper. But finally Sony think that they have the solution with Digital Paper. It is more than just an e-ink display, it has proper resolution, its light and has enough on board storing to get anyone through the day. The Digital Paper device comes with a high contrast reflective display offering a 1200 x 1600 of pixel resolutions which is clear enough for the text to be read clearly, even in daylight. The Internal storage is 4 GB which should be enough for around 2,800 PDF files of around 1 MB each, but this can be expanded with the slot for a micro SD card.
It comes with a handy built-in Wi-Fi functionality for file sharing over a wireless connection. It is thin and light measuring around .26 inches, which is about the thickness of thirty sheets of paper and it weighs in at 12.6 oz. Finally it comes with the Sony rechargeable lithium-ion battery, that according to Sony will provide the user with up to three weeks use on a single charge. Digital Paper from Sony is going on sale in May, which is great if this is the sort of thing that you need for your business, the downside is the $1,100 price, obviously as with all new products the price is high, but wow that is high.
