Ever since Star Trek TNG we have been wondering if and when food replicators would ever become a reality, well it seems that we could be one step closer to this fantastic revolution with the Foodini 3D food printer. As it says, the Foodini is capable of creating a variety of sweet and savory dishes all freshly made using real ingredients. So, how does this work? Well, it does not make food from thin air, the Foodini takes all of your fresh ingredients and turns them into something edible.
The Foodini is a bit like a highly advanced food processor, making pasta, crackers, burgers and just about food that requires a lot of preparation, except in this case the preparation part of the process has been removed because this where the Foodini steps in. Its not quite Star Trek yet, but the Foodini is a big step forward in the way that food could be produced in the future, saving time and money while producing healthy food that everyone wants to eat.
The Foodini will be launching early next year with a retail price of around $1,300, but if you like what you see then it can pre ordered for a short while for just $999.
