The original Lytro digital camera was supposed to have been a taste of things to come, its replacement was much anticipated and yet with the launch of the new Illum camera it seems that the company are changing direction somewhat. Yet despite this apparent change of design and style, the new camera is offering the user some of the features from the original camera. Such as, being able to change the focus after image capture, fixed lens DSLR and high quality resolution, which are all the qualities that a photographer of any skill level would love to get their hands on.
The new Lytro Illum camera has a look that camera users might a thought they would not see again, but it offers an f/2.0 aperture fixed lens and a range that starts at 30mm and goes up 250mm. So this is a design that offers something of the traditional style camera. The difference is in this case, it comes with all of the latest technology behind it and that is what will set it away from the other cameras in this sector. The Illum is costly, but the tech makes it worth the investment.
The Lytro Illum camera can be pre ordered at a special introductory price of $1500.
