For many iPad owners the sound of a traditional typewriter is something only heard on the TV or in a movie. However, it seems that some people like a touch of nostalgia and for the iPad owner a trip down memory lane is available through the Typing Writer app. Once the app is opened the screen changes from hi-tech to lo-tech as the classic typewriter takes over the screen and sounds. From here, you can type a letter in a classic style with the sound of a 1970’s typing room to add to the illusion, for anyone who has been there this app will bring back those memories.
The app even comes with its own built in correction fluid! Except in this case, you get a white out brush, simply brush over the word that needs correcting and start again. This is one feature that typists from those offices will remember and probably would have hated at the time. The Typing Writer is paid for app costing around £1.49 in the UK and $1.99 in the US on iTunes it is not a high price pay in order to take a glimpse back in time at how things used to be done in the office.
