For some time it seemed like Twitter was never going to release Periscope on Android, but a couple of months after it appeared on iTunes, the app is now available for Android device owners from Google Play. This means that you will be able to broadcast live video streams straight to your Twitter account and in the process notify your followers that the broadcast has begun, so there are no excuses for missing out on all of the fun.
While there are many ways to discover events and places, we realized there is no better way to experience a place right now than through live video. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but live video can take you someplace and show you around.
The Android version is very similar to the iOS version with the exception of better notification options and a handy function that allows you to return straight to the broadcast following an interruption, such as a phone call or text message. It is easy to get used to the app, basically you either broadcast or watch live video, what’s not to like about that? You can now head over to Google Play and download the free Periscope app to start streaming media straight away.
