Lenovo has launched its latest smartphone, they are calling it the Phab 2 Pro and for anyone who loves to have a smartphone that is almost a tablet, then this could be the phone that they have been waiting for. The screen is over six inches, it comes in a lovely Champagne Gold or Gunmetal Grey and it is the first smartphone to use Google’s Tango, a new technology designed for augmented reality (AR) gaming and utilities.
The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has a 6.4 inch QHD display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution that adapts to different lighting conditions such as the sun or reflections. The camera set up is a big feature with this hones, so there is a 16 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front camera and .3 seconds for super-fast focus. While there is high quality sound from the Dolby Atmos 5.1 Audio Capture, with 3 mics with 360 voice and noise cancelling features.
The device is housed in smart looking 8.9 mm aluminum unibody, with fingerprint scanner and 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by the Snapdragon 652 processor, which has been optimized for Tango apps and the memory comes with 64 GB of ROM and 4 GB of RAM. As for the battery, the Phab 2 Pro has a 4050 mAh battery with a 2.4 x turbo charging feature.
The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is planned for a launch this summer, with a guide price of around $500 for the basic model, yet as ever there will no doubt be some cool offers and deals from carriers who are keen to cash in on the growth of augmented reality (AR) gaming. This smartphone is not going to be for everyone, but there is a demand for devices that bridge the gap between tablets and smartphones.
