Back in 1973 a movie called Westworld, set in a theme park, it showed us how robots could go wrong and end up going on a killing spree. It was the Gunslinger dressed in black played by Yul Brynner that really made the movie. Now Westworld is back, but this time as a ten part TV series from HBO and it is promising to bring Westworld up to date with the help of J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
The one-hour drama series Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.
Westworld stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr. You can see Westworld later on this year, for more news and details go to the Westworld pages on HBO.
