Fortnitemares 2025: A Hauntingly Good Time!

Get ready, Loopers, because Fortnitemares 2025 is officially upon us, and it’s shaping up to be the most terrifyingly fun event yet! Epic Games has once again outdone itself, bringing a fresh wave of spooky delights, bone-chilling challenges, and some truly wicked cosmetics to the island. So grab your pickaxe and prepare for a fright, because we’re diving deep into everything Fortnitemares 2025 has to offer!

    New Haunts and Eerie Encounters

The island itself has undergone a dramatic transformation, with several new POIs emerging from the shadows. The most talked-about is undoubtedly “Gravewood Manor,” a sprawling, decrepit estate shrouded in perpetual fog. Rumour has it, a new boss lurks within its crumbling walls, guarding legendary loot – but be warned, the manor is teeming with ghastly husks and spectral traps. Exploring this new location is a thrilling, albeit terrifying, experience.

But Gravewood Manor isn’t the only addition. Keep an eye out for smaller, equally unsettling landmarks like the “Whispering Crypts” and the “Witch’s Brew,” each offering unique challenges and opportunities for rare items. The atmosphere is thick with dread, making every encounter feel genuinely intense.

    Spooktacular Weapons and Items

Fortnitemares wouldn’t be complete without a new arsenal of Halloween-themed weaponry, and 2025 does not disappoint! The standout is the “Phantom’s Grasp,” a mythical harvesting tool that not only deals increased damage but also siphons a small amount of health from defeated enemies. Imagine taking down a squad while simultaneously healing – talk about spooky synergy!

We’ve also seen the return of fan-favourite consumables like the “Witch’s Broomstick,” allowing for quick, aerial escapes, and the “Pumpkin Launcher,” always a blast for some explosive fun. New additions include the “Spectral Shard Grenade,” which blinds enemies with a burst of ghostly light, and the “Vampiric Vial,” a rare consumable that grants temporary lifesteal.

Frightful Fashion: New Skins and Cosmetics

What’s a Fortnitemares event without some epic new outfits to strike fear (or awe) into your opponents? This year’s battle pass is brimming with creatively creepy skins, from the intricately designed “Shadow Weaver” set, which glows eerily in the dark, to the more whimsical but still unsettling “Zombie Llama” outfit.

Beyond the battle pass, the item shop is constantly updating with a rotating selection of ghoulish gliders, petrifying pickaxes, and emotes that are sure to send shivers down your spine. My personal favourite so far has to be the “Ghastly Glide” glider – it looks like you’re riding a literal ghost! Don’t miss out on these limited-time cosmetics, as they’ll vanish faster than a vampire at sunrise.

    Challenges and Rewards

Of course, Fortnitemares comes with a slew of new challenges designed to test your courage and skill. From eliminating fiends in specific locations to performing daring feats in the new spooky POIs, there are plenty of ways to earn XP and unlock exclusive cosmetic rewards. Completing all the Fortnitemares challenges will even grant you the coveted “Revenant’s Retribution” back bling, a truly menacing accessory that perfectly caps off any spooky ensemble.

    Final Thoughts

Fortnitemares 2025 has truly embraced the spirit of Halloween, delivering an event that’s both fun and genuinely atmospheric. The new locations, weapons, and cosmetics add a fantastic layer to the existing Fortnite experience, and the challenges keep players engaged and coming back for more. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the island, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this year’s spooky celebration.

Of course, no Brawlhalloween would be complete without a fresh batch of incredible, themed skins, and 2025 is no exception. Prepare to be amazed by these hauntingly beautiful additions to your Brawler’s wardrobe:

    • Pumpkin Piper: Piper gets a fantastic makeover as a grinning jack-o’-lantern, complete with leafy accents and a stem for a hat! Her umbrella now resembles a carved pumpkin, ready to unleash a shower of candy corn.

Zombie Frank: Frank embraces his undead side with torn clothes, glowing green eyes, and exposed bones. His hammer? A massive, cracked tombstone, perfect for smashing his way through opponents.

    • Witch Mortis: Mortis transforms into a classic witch, complete with a pointy hat, a tattered cloak, and a broomstick that replaces his shovel. His bats are now spectral spirits!
    • Vampire Colette: Colette sheds her usual cheerful demeanour for a more sinister, elegant vampire look. Think dark Victorian attire, sharp fangs, and a blood-red special attack effect.

A New Game Mode: “Haunted Harvest”

Get ready for “Haunted Harvest,” a brand new 3v3 game mode that’s sure to send shivers down your spine! In this mode, teams compete to collect the most “Spirit Orbs” scattered across a spooky, fog-filled map.

    • Spirit Orbs: These orbs appear randomly across the map. Collect them to add to your team’s score.
    • Ghostly Guardians: Beware! The map is patrolled by “Ghostly Guardians,” AI-controlled enemies that will try to steal your orbs if they catch you. They can also briefly “possess” Brawlers, reversing their controls!
    • Pumpkin Patches: Certain areas of the map are “Pumpkin Patches” where Spirit Orbs spawn more frequently, but these areas are also prime targets for ambushes and Ghostly Guardian activity.
    • The Midnight Bell: Every 60 seconds, “The Midnight Bell” tolls, temporarily increasing the speed and damage of all Ghostly Guardians, making orb collection even more perilous!

The team with the most Spirit Orbs when the timer runs out wins! It’s a frantic, strategic, and utterly terrifying new way to brawl.

  • Blast Off with Charm: Why You Need to Play Little Rocket Lab

Blast Off with Charm: Why You Need to Play Little Rocket Lab

If you’ve ever dreamt of combining the logistical satisfaction of an automation game with the cosy, heartwarming feel of a life-sim RPG, then get ready to clear your schedule. Little Rocket Lab has officially launched, and it’s the beautiful, brain-teasing hybrid we didn’t know we needed.

Developed by Teenage Astronauts and published by No More Robots, this title takes you on a journey that’s part engineering challenge, part small-town revival. It’s time to roll up your sleeves, fire up the assembly lines, and build something truly extraordinary.

The Premise: More Than Just a Factory

At the heart of Little Rocket Lab is a story that feels personal and ambitious. You play as Morgan, an aspiring engineer returning home to the sleepy town of St. Ambroise. The town, like your childhood home, has fallen into disrepair, but you have a grand plan: to complete your late mother’s dream project—a massive rocket ship.

Your ultimate goal is literally out of this world, but the path to get there is grounded in community. The game brilliantly intertwines the two halves of its genre-blending DNA:

    • The RPG/Life-Sim: You’ll spend time getting to know the colourful residents of St. Ambroise, each of whom has a problem that only a clever engineer can solve. By helping the locals, you unlock new parts of the town, gain access to resources, and become the heart of the community.
    • The Automation/Simulation: This is where your engineering mind takes over. To help the town and build your rocket, you need materials, and the only way to get them efficiently is through automated factories.

The Thrill of the Assembly Line

While the art style and town charm may feel reminiscent of games like Stardew Valley or Story of Seasons, the core gameplay loop has the depth of a classic factory-builder like Factorio.

You’ll start small with basic tools like drills and furnaces, converting raw materials—mined from diverse locations like coasts, railyards, and underground areas—into usable components. But before long, you’ll be constructing intricate, sprawling production lines featuring:

    • Complex Assemblers: Turning multiple components into advanced parts.
    • Conveyor Belts: Laying down miles of track to move resources across your growing workspace.
    • Cranes and Robotics: Automating difficult or multi-step processes.
    • Power Management: Incorporating electrical and waterpower to keep your contraptions running smoothly.

The game is generous with its building systems, allowing you to easily experiment, delete, and redesign your factory layouts without punishing resource loss. The logical satisfaction of watching your perfectly-tuned system hum with efficiency is truly addictive.

    Cosy Vibes, Deep Systems

What sets Little Rocket Lab apart is its commitment to being a “cosy automation game.” It offers a relaxed, no-stamina bar experience, allowing you to focus on creativity rather than constant maintenance. It respects your time while providing over 20 hours of story-driven gameplay to complete your family’s ambitious project.

Key Features to Get Excited About:

    • A Defined Character Arc: Play as Morgan, an engineer with a clear purpose and a heartwarming story guiding your progress.
    • Research and Innovation: Constantly invent new machines, discover new energy sources, and even create mechanical companions.
    • Community First: Every factory you build serves a purpose for the townsfolk, tying your logistical work to the emotional core of the game.
    • Play Anywhere: The game is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning you can seamlessly transition your save between your Xbox and Windows PC.

Ready to Roll Up Your Sleeves?

Little Rocket Lab successfully proves that a game can be both a complex engineering challenge and a heartfelt adventure. If you’ve been searching for a game that appeals to your love of optimisation and your soft spot for small-town charm, your search is over.

Little Rocket Lab is available now on Steam and Xbox (including Game Pass) and is perfect for a cosy weekend of building your way to the stars.

  • Warp Speed Strategy: Why ‘Fleetbreakers’ is the Roguelite RTS You Need to Play

Warp Speed Strategy: Why ‘Fleetbreakers’ is the Roguelite RTS You Need to Play

A new contender is challenging the stars of the strategy genre, and it comes with a serious pedigree. Fleetbreakers, the upcoming title from developer Last Keep, isn’t just another space RTS—it’s a dynamic blend of deep fleet management and fast-paced, roguelite-infused combat. If you’re looking for a fresh take on real-time strategy, this one should be firmly on your radar.

RTS Veterans Chart a New Course

The buzz around Fleetbreakers is amplified by the team behind it. Developed by Last Keep, the studio includes veterans who worked on legendary titles like Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, and Halo Wars. This experience signals an intent to honor the core appeal of classic RTS games while modernizing the formula for a new generation.

The result is a game that feels both strategically profound and immediately accessible. The developers describe it as a “modern blend of classic strategy and fast-paced combat,” a promise that the available demo seems to be delivering on.

The Core Loop: Roguelite Campaigns and Squadron Combat

At its heart, Fleetbreakers pits you, a young leader of a fledgling rebel faction, against the menacing Voltari empire. The campaign unfolds across a procedurally generated Starmap, which is where the roguelite element truly shines.

The Strategy Layer: Each run is a new war. You strategically choose your next move on the Starmap—whether to target an enemy base, build a new colony, or respond to sector-wide events. Your choices have consequences, as the Voltari react dynamically, forcing you to constantly adapt your long-term plan. This provides the high-level decision-making depth that strategy fans crave, where every move feels impactful.

The Combat Layer (Develop, Deploy, Destroy): When it’s time to fight, the game transitions to exhilarating, real-time space battles.

    • Squadron Control: Instead of micromanaging individual ships, you command Squadrons—groups of diverse units from agile fighters to tough tanks. This streamlined approach makes the fast-paced combat manageable, particularly with full controller support in mind.
    • Attack Facing: A key tactical feature is Attack Facing, which lets you precisely control the direction your squadrons approach a target. This adds a crucial layer of positional strategy, allowing you to avoid turrets or set up devastating flanking manoeuvres.
    • Mothership Support: Your mothership isn’t just a static base. You use it to build critical stations, call in reinforcements, and activate special support abilities that can instantly turn the tide of a losing battle.
    • Persistent Upgrades: Even if a run ends in defeat, it’s not the end. The roguelite structure includes persistent upgrades that carry over, allowing your fleet to grow stronger and better prepared for the next attempt to liberate the sector.

A Fresh Take on Space Warfare

The game aims to bridge the gap between grand strategy and action-focused combat, offering a high-replayability experience. The short, impactful missions and the mix of macro-level strategic decisions on the Starmap with micro-level tactical maneuvers in battle make for a captivating flow.

With an Early Access launch currently slated for Q1 2026, the developers are actively engaging with the community, utilising a free, playable demo on Steam to gather feedback. If you’re a fan of RTS, roguelites, or just love the idea of commanding an armada against an oppressive galactic empire, the time to dive into Fleetbreakers and leave your mark on development is now.

Ready to forge your own fleet? The free demo is available on Steam, offering a glimpse into the action-packed space strategy that Last Keep is cooking up. Go download it and let us know your thoughts!

  • A Scrappy Surprise: Drifter Makes the Leap to 3D in Risk of Rain 2: Alloyed Collective

A Scrappy Surprise: Drifter Makes the Leap to 3D in Risk of Rain 2: Alloyed Collective

The hype for Risk of Rain 2: Alloyed Collective has been building, not just for the new drone-focused gameplay and stages, but for the announcement of its two new Survivors: the brand-new Operator, and the delightful return of the Drifter!

Making her 3D debut after charming players in Risk of Rain Returns, Drifter is back to prove that one person’s trash is a whole team’s treasure. She’s the resourceful brawler-support with a knack for turning scrap metal into powerful, albeit temporary, loot. For console players, this is her first appearance, making her essentially a brand-new experience, and for veterans, it’s a fascinating look at how her unique mechanics are translated into the chaotic 3D world of Petrichor V.

The Heart of the Scrapper: Drifter’s Kit

The Drifter’s core loop revolves around generating and spending Scrap, a unique resource that powers her most defining abilities.

    • Primary: Blunt Force (Likely): This will be her main source of damage and, crucially, her primary way to generate Scrap. In Returns, it was a 3-hit combo with a high chance to generate Scrap on each hit. Expect a similar, close-range, high-damage opener in RoR2, requiring you to get right into the fray to fuel your utility.
    • Resource: Scrap: This is the lifeblood of her kit. You gain it by landing hits with her primary and using certain abilities, and you spend it on her special moves. A new passive ability in Alloyed Collective even gives her a stat buff (like movement speed) for every piece of scrap she holds, making resource management a vital part of her moment-to-moment gameplay.
    • Special: Salvage/Recycle: This is where Drifter truly shines as a support.
      • Salvage (her default Special in Returns) consumed a large amount of Scrap to spawn a bundle of temporary items. These items could be common, uncommon, or even rare, and the temporary nature of the buffs meant a constant, exciting turnover of power. For her RoR2 iteration, this temporary item system is confirmed to be coming back and will likely be the centrepiece of her design.
      • Recycle (an alternate in Returns) was a scrap-consuming ability that could reroll a nearby item or equipment pickup. This could be an absolute game-changer in a tough run, allowing you to fine-tune your (or your teammate’s) build.

    Bringing the Brawler-Support to 3D

The transition from 2D side-scroller to a 3D arena shooter is the biggest question mark, and the developer’s reveal trailer offered some exciting hints:

    • Resource Management in the Fray: Unlike survivors who rely on simple cooldowns, Drifter requires active engagement to generate her resource. You have to risk getting up close with Blunt Force to get the Scrap you need to secure more loot for your run. This creates an intense rhythm of close-quarters brawling followed by tactical item distribution.
    • Team Synergy King: Her ability to drop temporary items makes her an incredible asset in multiplayer. Imagine dropping four high-rarity temporary items right before a teleporter fight. While some community members who playtested the DLC confirmed you can’t, for example, carry a Scrapper between stages, the temporary item system promises to offer incredible bursts of power and a new layer of team coordination.
    • The Power of the Temporary: The very concept of temporary items is a wild, unpredictable element. A fleeting run with a God-tier item or a movement buff that saves your life for a stage adds a chaotic, fun element to the classic Risk of Rain item grind. It rewards players for constantly engaging with the mechanic.

    A Welcome Return

Drifter’s return is more than just another face; it’s a testament to the character design from Risk of Rain Returns and a fresh take on the core RoR2 loop. Her kit is perfectly designed to disrupt the predictable nature of item acquisition, forcing players to manage a secondary resource and think about short-term power spikes instead of just permanent build-ups.

If you enjoy melee-focused survivors, value high utility, or just want to shake up the looting process for yourself and your co-op buddies, the Drifter is shaping up to be a truly unique and exciting addition to the Risk of Rain 2 roster.

Get ready to scrap and salvage your way to victory when Alloyed Collective drops!

  • Fear the Fog: “The Haunting” Descends on Call of Duty: Warzone & Black Ops 6

Fear the Fog: “The Haunting” Descends on Call of Duty: Warzone & Black Ops 6

The spooky season is officially upon us, and in the world of Call of Duty, that can only mean one thing: The Haunting has returned. This year’s Halloween event, arriving with Season 06 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, is arguably the biggest and most terrifying crossover in the game’s history. Forget jump scares—this is a full-scale horror invasion that permeates every corner of the game.

From iconic movie slashers stalking the multiplayer maps to nightmarish map variants in Warzone, get ready to face your biggest nightmares when the update goes live on October 9th.

The Icons of Horror Take Over

The biggest draw of The Haunting is the mind-blowing roster of horror legends joining the fight. They aren’t just cosmetic skins; they’re central to new, chilling game modes and the entire aesthetic of the season.

? Slasher Deathmatch: Jason vs. Chucky

Black Ops 6 Multiplayer is introducing Slasher Deathmatch, a horrific new hide-and-seek LTM where survivors face off against two of horror’s most relentless killers, with each match lasting four rounds:

    • Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th): The embodiment of brute force. As Jason, you wield a lethal Machete, moving with a dread-inducing pace that quickens as you close in.
    • Chucky (Child’s Play): The tiny terror brings chaotic mayhem and a twisted set of abilities, chasing survivors with a Combat Knife and the ability to get back up for more carnage. Survivors aren’t defenceless, though—they can fight back with their wits, Shock Charges, and Molotovs.

? The Predator Stalks the Battle Pass

Season 06’s Battle Pass is led by none other than The Predator as a new Operator, bringing its “Jungle Hunter” aesthetic back to Call of Duty after a long absence. For those who opt for BlackCell, the “Jungle Hunter BlackCell” skin and the skeletal Dread Operator await.

You can also look forward to unleashing the terror of Jason Voorhees and Chucky & Tiff as Operator Bundles available throughout the event.

Warzone and Zombies: Nightmares in Every Mode

The frights aren’t confined to traditional Multiplayer. Warzone and Zombies are getting a full-blown Halloween makeover that changes the way you play the game.

    ? Warzone’s Darkest Night

    • Night Maps Return: Prepare to drop into night variants of Verdansk and Rebirth Island. The familiar landscapes are shrouded in darkness and a sinister atmosphere, perfectly setting the stage for zombified battles.
    • Zombie Royale is Back: The fan-favourite mode returns! Operators who are eliminated reanimate as the undead, gaining new abilities to hunt down the remaining living squads.
    • Casual Z: A new LTM on the night maps of Verdansk and Rebirth, this mode pits players against each other, bots, and hordes of regular and armoured zombies roaming the map.

    ? Zombies: Haunted Havoc

Zombies players are in for a brutal twist with the Haunted Havoc LTM. This relentlessly intense mode throws you into a nightmare where:

    • The Rampage Inducer is forced on from the start, making the undead faster and more aggressive immediately.
    • Watch out for lurking Mimics and treat-filled Jack-o’-Lanterns that may or may not be helpful.
    • A new Jacked Lanterns Whimsical GobbleGum will turn zombie heads into pumpkins, bringing a darkly festive touch to the slaughter.

  • Enter the Arena: Why Bloodgrounds is the Gladiator Strategy Game You Need to Watch

Enter the Arena: Why Bloodgrounds is the Gladiator Strategy Game You Need to Watch

Step into the blood-soaked sands of the arena, not as a fighter, but as a wealthy patron with a singular purpose: vengeance. Bloodgrounds, a brutal new tactical strategy RPG from Exordium Games and Daedalic Entertainment, is quickly garnering attention for its compelling blend of turn-based combat and deep roguelite management.

If you’ve ever wished for an XCOM or Darkest Dungeon experience set in a dark-fantasy Roman world, where your warriors are gladiators and your city is your barracks, you need to be paying attention to this game.

Where the Blood is Spilled: The Core Gameplay Loop

Bloodgrounds isn’t just a combat game; it’s a constant, deadly balancing act. The game is split into two distinct, equally vital layers:

    1. The Arena: Brutal Turn-Based Tactics

At its heart, Bloodgrounds features grid-based, turn-based combat. You command a small team of gladiators, each belonging to a distinct class—physical, ranged, or magical—with unique abilities and equipment.

    • Tactical Depth: Positioning and smart use of action points are crucial. Arenas are filled with hazards, traps, and audience-thrown power-ups.
    • Permadeath: This is the game’s brutal core. If a gladiator falls in battle, they are lost forever, along with all their hard-earned gear and progress. Every decision, from an aggressive move to a tactical retreat, carries catastrophic weight.
    • Mercy or Murder: A unique mechanic allows you to recruit new fighters mid-battle. When you defeat an enemy, you can often choose to show them mercy—sparing their life to have them join your roster—or execute them for an immediate reward. It’s a ruthless calculation that can shape your entire squad.

    2. The City: Management and Progression

Between the deadly tournaments, you retire to Marevento, the coastal city you oversee. Here, you transition from field general to shrewd manager:

    • Squad Management: You recruit new fighters, train them, level up their stats, and equip them with a wide variety of weapons and armour. Crucially, you must also manage the inevitable traumas and negative statuses that surviving a brutal fight inflicts on your gladiators.
    • City Building: Your gold is used to unlock, construct, and upgrade various buildings in your estate—from the Infirmary (to treat those nasty wounds) to the Market and a Monument to honour the fallen. These buildings unlock new mechanics, services, and powerful upgrades.
    • The Big Picture: Your ultimate goal is a desperate quest for vengeance against the tyrannical Emperor. Each successful arena victory brings you one step closer to your final confrontation at the Capitol.

The Darkest Dungeon Meets Ancient Rome

The comparison to games like Darkest Dungeon and Battle Brothers is unavoidable and well-deserved. Bloodgrounds nails the sense of high-stakes attrition. You’re constantly managing scarce resources (your gladiators), and a single bad run can derail your entire campaign.

The game’s dark fantasy world, complete with mythological beasties, angry deities, and dealings with shady crime lords, adds a fresh, intriguing layer to the classic Roman gladiator trope. The pixel-art aesthetic is both beautiful and suitably grim, perfectly capturing the gritty spectacle of the arena.

    Ready for Early Access

With the full release planned for 2025, Bloodgrounds is heading into Early Access on Steam soon. The current demo offers a substantial slice of the game, letting players dive deep into the first ‘Age’ of challenges. It’s a great opportunity to get a feel for the deadly pace, complex class synergies, and the permanent cost of failure.

If you’re a fan of deep tactical combat, punishing roguelite progression, and complex resource management, it’s time to don your manager’s robes. The crowds are roaring, and your quest for vengeance awaits!

Are you ready to send your gladiators to glory… or death?

  • Forget the Rainbow Road: It’s Time to Visit Go Kart Island

Forget the Rainbow Road: It’s Time to Visit Go Kart Island

Think you know kart racing? Think again. While the genre has its established royalty, a new contender has arrived to shake up the circuit: Go Kart Island. This isn’t just another series of enclosed tracks; it’s an entire open-world adventure with a heart, a story, and a determined Highland Cow named Lachlan at the wheel.

If you’ve been craving a kart racer that blends the chaotic fun of item-tossing races with the expansive exploration of a Forza Horizon game, Go Kart Island might just be your next obsession.

The Big Race and the Corrupt Mayor

The core of Go Kart Island revolves around a delightful and slightly absurd premise. You play as Lachlan the Highland Cow, who has arrived on the titular island with one dream: to win the prestigious BIG RACE and become the Go Kart Champion.

However, the local, decidedly corrupt, weasel Mayor has an election campaign to fund and slaps an outrageous 1,000 coin entry fee on Lachlan. This sets the stage for the game’s full story mode, where you must explore the open world, take on a variety of odd jobs, and race against the clock and rivals to earn the necessary cash.

    Open-World Karting: Exploration Meets Excitement

The true differentiator for Go Kart Island is its open-world design. The island itself is a diverse playground, stretching from mountain tops to deserts and lagoons, all waiting to be explored.

This isn’t just scenic filler; the open world is packed with things to do:

    • Collectables Galore: Hunt down over 150 collectables like coins and gems, and even smash the Mayor’s propaganda-filled advertising boards.
    • A Roster of Quirky Events: The game features a full story mode with 34 different events. Beyond classic races and time trials, you’ll encounter truly unique activities like:
      • Chase Missions: Pursue a cheating mouse or try to escape a gang of racing ducks.
      • Collect Races: Win the race and snag all the scattered coins on the circuit.
      • Crazy Taxi-Style Deliveries: Rush islanders to their destinations against a ticking clock.

    Animal Antics and Kart Combat

Your rivals and acquaintances on Go Kart Island are as charming and diverse as the environment. You’ll interact with and race against 32 different animal characters, from giraffes and turtles to sheep, each adding personality to your adventure.

And what’s a kart racer without weapons? The game offers a range of humorous, food-themed items to turn the tide of a race, including the homing pizza (delivered in three seconds or less) and the aptly named Splatula. Oh, and yes—you have a fully honkable kart horn. HONK!

Initial Impressions and Where to Play

The solo developer, Grumpy Pizza Games, has drawn comparisons to an open-world karting version of Forza Horizon, which is high praise for an indie debut. Early players of the Steam demo have highlighted the promising variety in events, the “bop” of the music, and the overall colourful, whimsical charm.

If you’re looking for a fresh spin on the kart racing genre, Go Kart Island is one to watch.

    Platforms and Release Dates:

    • Steam: Launching on November 10, 2025. A demo featuring the first nine story events is available now, so you can try before you buy!
    • Nintendo Switch: Cruising onto the eShop on January 9, 2026.

Get ready to rev your engines, practice your driftslide, and help a determined Highland Cow achieve his destiny! The BIG RACE awaits!

  • Building the Engine of Victory: Why You Should Watch Deckanism: Singularity Island

Building the Engine of Victory: Why You Should Watch Deckanism: Singularity Island

The roguelike deckbuilder scene is absolutely buzzing, but every now and then, a game emerges that genuinely shakes up the formula. That game, right now, is Deckanism: Singularity Island.

Developed by Arvis Games, this upcoming title is not content with just being a deckbuilder—it’s a true hybrid, mashing up card collection, synergy hunting, and the hands-off tactical intensity of an auto-battler. If you’re a fan of watching a perfectly crafted engine of cards click into place, prepare to get lost on Singularity Island.

What is Deckanism? A Roguelike Deckbuilder Meets Auto-Battler

At its heart, Deckanism throws you onto the mysterious Singularity Island, a place where time and space have been fractured by an evil AI. As one of the conscious, helmet-wearing clones trapped in an endless cycle of battles (a “loop”), your goal is simple: break the cycle.

But how do you do that? Not just by playing big damage cards.

The key innovation here is the Mechanism system. Instead of simply playing cards from your hand one by one, you strategically build an engine of cards, items, and synergies that will automatically trigger, chain, and counter your opponent’s setup once the combat round begins.

The Core Gameplay Loop: Position and Prediction

Every run, or “loop,” requires you to rebuild your deck, but the knowledge and permanent upgrades you unlock carry over. The battles themselves are where the magic happens:

    • Position-Based Combat: You place your cards strategically across a six-slot battlefield. The placement is everything, as it determines which cards will interact and in what order.
    • Engine Building: You’re not just looking for good cards; you’re looking for broken combos. The game features over 150 items and 50+ Inspirations that allow you to push your card engine to its absolute limit. Imagine a card triggering an item, which then moves another card to a new slot, which in turn activates its powerful chain effect. This is the level of planning required.
    • The Auto-Battler Twist: Once you and your opponent have set up your mechanisms, the fight is hands-off. You watch your meticulously crafted engine—your “Deckanism”—come to life, hoping your predictive positioning and card synergies overwhelm your foe. Victory lies in anticipating your opponent’s setup and designing the perfect counter-mechanism.

    Why This Blend Works

The fusion of these two genres creates a truly unique and engaging strategic experience:

    1. Deep, Rewarding Strategy: The auto-battler element means there’s no frantic real-time play. All your focus is on the draft, the card-synergy design, and the tactical positioning. It elevates the deckbuilding from simple number-crunching to a puzzle of spatial and temporal mechanics.
    2. High Replayability: Like any good roguelike, progress resets, but your strategic insight doesn’t. Infinite class variability (by unlocking new starting items and inspirations) ensures that no two runs will ever feel the same. The pursuit of that one “broken” build combination is a powerful lure.
    3. The Thrill of the Spectacle: Watching your self-operating mechanism unleash a devastating, cascading series of card effects is immensely satisfying. It’s the kind of combat where you might actually want to record the replay just to appreciate your strategic genius.

    Final Thoughts: Wishlist This Now!

Deckanism: Singularity Island is clearly building something special. The developers are already gathering feedback from a live demo, and the game is slated for a full release in Q1 2026 on PC via Steam.

If you enjoy the strategic depth of card games like Slay the Spire but crave a more hands-off, positional puzzle like Auto Chess or Teamfight Tactics, this is a must-wishlist title. Get ready to design, deploy, and dominate, as you fight to break the endless loop of the Singularity.
