It’s the crossover we’ve been waiting for — and the best part? It won’t cost you a penny.
Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier, and PlayStation’s Team Asobi have teamed up to bring a PS5-exclusive Astro Bot costume to Rayman Legends Retold, launching December 3, 2026 — and every player gets it for free.
The Story Behind the Suit
If this pairing feels familiar, that’s because it is. Back in 2024, Rayman made a beloved cameo appearance as a special VIP Bot in Astro Bot, rubbing shoulders with PlayStation’s favourite little robot. Now, the favour is being returned — Astro’s iconic design is reimagined as a costume for Rayman, creating a perfect full-circle moment between two platforming legends.
How to Unlock It
No pre-order required. No extra purchase needed.
- When: Your very first visit to Victor Velour’s costume shop
- Cost: Completely free
- Platform: Exclusive to PS5 / PS5 Pro
- Requirement: Just play the game — the outfit unlocks automatically as you meet the tailor during your adventure
Crafted with Care — A Collaboration Three Ways
The outfit is the result of a genuine joint effort between Ubisoft and Team Asobi. Lead character artist Quentin Chaillet explained the team’s goal:
“We wanted to stay as faithful as possible to Astro Bot’s iconic design while making sure it still felt authentically Rayman. That meant carefully adapting the shapes and proportions — especially his large nose, no arms or legs, and those big shoes.”
The result? Rayman decked out in Astro’s signature sleek white-and-metallic body, glowing blue accents, and that instantly recognisable helmet — all shaped to fit Rayman’s limbless, expressive silhouette.
