See With Sound — Auris Turns Darkness Into Your Greatest Puzzle

Imagine a world where there is no light. Where walls, floors, and enemies vanish the moment you stop moving. Where every step you take reveals the world — and every silence hides it again.

This is Auris, the striking 2D puzzle?platformer from developers Liza Kuzmina, Daulet Mukan, and Yerzhan Mukhanov, where you play as a blind boy navigating the sinister Wortex Research Institute — a facility that took your mother, trapped other children, and now keeps you in total darkness. Your only tool: echolocation.

The World Appears When You Make a Sound

Vision is gone. Instead, sound is your sight:

    • Footsteps and jumps send out ripples of sound that briefly illuminate platforms, walls, traps, and dangers
    • Throw objects to scout ahead — reveal hidden paths, trigger switches, or check for safe footing
    • Stay silent when you must — some sections demand stealth; noise draws not just light… but attention
    • The world fades fast — what you saw vanishes seconds later. Memory matters as much as hearing

It’s a mechanic that rewires how you play. You don’t just look ahead — you listen and remember. Every run becomes a rhythm of reveal and retreat, anticipation and discovery.

Fight, Rescue, Escape — and Find Your Mother

The lab is far from empty. Between you and freedom lie:

    • Creatures of the dark — bats, rats, and mutated horrors that react to your noise. Some patrol; some hunt. You must learn their patterns — and sometimes use sound to lure them away
    • Other trapped children — you’re not alone. Along the way you’ll find and help fellow captives, who may offer aid in return
    • Your mother — the reason you push forward. She was taken for “treatment” by the lab staff. Finding her is the heart of your journey

    Precision, Atmosphere, and Pure Emotion

Auris isn’t just a clever mechanic — it’s a game about resilience, empathy, and seeing without eyes. Every level tightens the challenge: puzzles grow more layered, platforms more precise, and the darkness more unforgiving. Yet the core never shifts: move, listen, remember, survive.

A free demo is available right now on Steam, with the full game slated for release 1 December 2026.
