  • Next-Gen Chicken Dinners: PUBG Unveils Game-Changing Console Experience Roadmap!

Next-Gen Chicken Dinners: PUBG Unveils Game-Changing Console Experience Roadmap!

If you’ve been dropping into Erangel or Miramar on Xbox or PlayStation lately, you already know that PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has entered a whole new era. Following the massive official transition to current-generation consoles late last year, Krafton has dropped a brand-new Console Experience Improvement Roadmap—and it’s safe to say console players are finally getting the VIP treatment they deserve.

For years, the console community has dealt with hardware limitations that held back the game’s true potential. Not anymore. With the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S fully unlocked, the developers are channelling that extra performance straight into gameplay, visual fidelity, and meta-shifting features.

Here is everything you need to know about what’s coming to your console setup.

Unlocking Peak Performance: Higher FPS & Smooth Matchmaking

When the current-gen transition initially dropped, the focus was entirely on building a rock-solid, stable foundation. Now that the dust has settled, the developers are actively leveraging this hardware leap.

    • Higher FPS & Visual Polish: Expect optimised frame rates that make hot-dropping feel smoother than ever before.
    • Welcoming New Blood: A major pillar of this console roadmap is tailoring the onboarding experience for newcomers. By smoothing out performance and mechanics, Krafton aims to secure a steady stream of new players, keeping console matchmaking fast and healthy.

    Meta Rotations and Gunplay Evolution

Tired of the exact same weapon meta ruling the battlegrounds for seasons on end? Krafton is completely changing how gunplay feels with intentional meta rotations.

Rather than letting one or two guns dominate permanently, the team is treating the weapon ecosystem as a constantly shifting meta. This includes regular balance updates, fresh attachments like the Hybrid Scope and Tilted Grip, and the outright removal of underutilised weapons that no longer fit the ecosystem. If you’ve been relying on the same loadout for years, it’s time to start practising with new gear.

    Tactical Terrain & Interactive Environments

The gameplay loops are getting a massive injection of strategy, highlighted by features that completely alter the map landscape:

    • Destructible Terrain: Say goodbye to losing a match just because the final circle forced you into an open field. With destructible terrain rolling out to classic maps like Erangel, you can literally dig or blast your own cover.
    • Interactive Smoke: Smoke grenades are no longer just static, opaque walls. They now behave as physical entities that sway dynamically with the wind and can be violently dispersed by explosions, adding an entirely new layer of tactical depth to firefights.
    • Stylised Executions: Looking to put a definitive, flashy end to an encounter? The roadmap introduces unique melee executions, giving underutilised weapons a brutal, high-impact purpose.

The Verdict: This isn’t just a minor patch; it’s a fundamental rewrite of the PUBG console experience. By moving past old-gen hardware restrictions, console players are finally getting a version of the game built for the future.

What feature are you most excited to try on your console? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Boldly Re-Revolving: Star Trek Online: Undiscovered Brings Back The Doctor, Better Deep Space, and a Massive Klingon Bird of Prey

Boldly Re-Revolving: Star Trek Online: Undiscovered Brings Back The Doctor, Better Deep Space, and a Massive Klingon Bird of Prey

Set coordinates for 2409, Captains! Arc Games and Cryptic Studios have officially launched Star Trek Online: Undiscovered on PC (with PlayStation and Xbox players joining the fray on July 29, 2026). Part of the franchise’s ongoing 60th-anniversary celebrations, this massive update focuses on rebuilding the game’s roots with a modern flair.

Whether you’re a hardened Vice Admiral or a brand-new Ensign, here is everything you need to know about the new update.

The Return of a Legacy: “The Ultimate Klingon” Reimagined

For long-time players, the early years of STO lore hold a special place in their hearts. Undiscovered honours that history by completely rebuilding the fan-favourite story arc, “The Ultimate Klingon,” from the ground up.

The premier episode, “The Kuvah’Magh,” throws you into the tense aftermath of four years of war between the Federation and a bitter, highly suspicious Klingon High Council. To make things better, Cryptic Studios has brought back some incredible voice talent to anchor the story:

    • Robert Picardo returns as everyone’s favourite Emergency Medical Hologram, The Doctor (reassuming his role as godfather!).
    • Lisa LoCicero returns as Lieutenant Miral Paris, the daughter of Tom Paris and B’Elanna Torres, who is navigating her complex mantle of ancient Klingon prophecy.

Expect updated graphics, completely reworked cutscenes, and a much smoother narrative experience that brings 2010 nostalgia into 2026 fidelity.

Re-Engineering Exploration: Procedural Deep Space Encounters

Space travel is getting a massive upgrade. If you’ve ever felt that moving through Sector Space lacked spontaneity, the revamped Deep Space Encounters are about to change your mind.

Instead of predictable spawns, exploration across the Alpha, Beta, and Delta Quadrants now utilises a procedural, repeatable gameplay system. Every time you warp into an encounter, you’ll experience a different combination of:

    • Dynamic mission objectives
    • Randomised enemy factions
    • Vast environmental varieties

Best of all, running these encounters actively rewards you with bonus Endeavor XP and progress toward the active seasonal event.

Claim Your Command: The K’Vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor [T6]

What’s a major STO update without a shiny new ship to command? By participating in the Undiscovered event—whether by completing the new episode, running Deep Space Encounters, or playing Task Force Operations—you can unlock the account-wide K’Vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor [T6].

Seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Lower Decks, this massive Klingon warship is the B’rel’s big sister and comes packed with some incredible features:

    • Hunting Pack Escorts Console: Call in a wing of B’rel Birds of Prey to swarm your targets.
    • Imperial Pressure Starship Trait: Dominate the battlefield under pressure.
    • Rapid Fire Disruptor Heavy Emitter: A brand-new experimental weapon designed to shred shields.

    QoL Fixes and Remasters

Cryptic hasn’t forgotten about the little things. Alongside the seasonal launch, the patch notes boast a highly anticipated visual remaster of the Sao Paulo variant of the Tactical Escort family. If you own the ship, the model upgrade is completely free. Klingon players also get two new free hairstyles (“Flared and Full” and “Long and Tied”) to look their absolute best while fighting for the Empire.

Star Trek Online: Undiscovered is available to play right now on PC. Get out there, defeat Ambassador B’vat, and secure peace for the galaxy!

  • Desk Job Derby: Kartboard Dash Turns Your Office Supplies into Weapons of Chaos

Desk Job Derby: Kartboard Dash Turns Your Office Supplies into Weapons of Chaos

We’ve all had those days at the office. You’re staring at a spreadsheet, your coffee is lukewarm, and you secretly wish you could hurl a stapler at your boss or launch a rubber band barrage across the cubicles.

Well, the indie developers at Zatun heard your silent corporate screams. Get ready to trade your ergonomic chair for a motorised cardboard box, because the ultimate workplace racing riot is officially on the horizon in the new game Kartboard Dash.

The Premise: The Cubicle is Your Racetrack

Kartboard Dash is a chaotic, fast-paced arcade kart racer that takes place entirely within the confines of a sprawling, highly detailed corporate office. The tracks weave through cluttered desks, dangerous breakrooms, treacherous copy machine corridors, and the dreaded executive boardroom.

You play as various stressed-out office archetypes—from the overworked intern to the power-tripping middle manager—all racing for the ultimate prize: getting your weekend PTO approved.

    The Arsenal: Desktop Warfare

What sets Kartboard Dash apart from your standard kart racer is its brilliant, hilarious weaponry. Forget red shells and banana peels; this game turns standard-issue stationery into tools of absolute destruction.

    • The Stapler Shotgun: Blast a spread of heavy-duty staples to spin out rivals right before the finish line.
    • The Rubber Band Slingshot: Snare the racer ahead of you and slingshot past them using pure kinetic tension.
    • The Hot Coffee Slick: Blind your opponents or make them slide uncontrollably across the polished linoleum floors.
    • The Post-it Note Smoke Screen: Plaster a rival’s screen with neon sticky notes to completely block their view.

    High-Octane Customization

Half the fun is building your ride. Players start with a basic cardboard Amazon delivery box and can unlock upgrades using “Company Credits” earned during races.

Want to attach rolling office chair wheels for better drifting? Do it. Want to strap a leaf-blower to the back for a nitrous boost? Go right ahead. You can even customise your driver with ridiculous corporate attire, from coffee-stained ties to full business-casual armour.

    Why It’s on Our Radar

Aside from the relatable and funny concept, the game features incredibly tight drifting mechanics, satisfying physics, and an absolute banger of a lo-fi/synth-wave soundtrack that mimics elevator music on steroids.

With both 4-player local split-screen and online multiplayer, Kartboard Dash is shaping up to be the perfect party game to play with your actual coworkers after hours. Just try not to take the grudges back to the real office on Monday.

    Final Verdict (For Now)

Kartboard Dash takes the mundane dread of a 9-to-5 and injects it with pure, unadulterated adrenaline. It’s colourful, frantic, and wonderfully petty. Keep your eyes peeled on Steam and consoles for this one—it’s time to clock in and freak out.

  • The 1996 Retro Illusion That’s Capturing the Indie Scene

The 1996 Retro Illusion That’s Capturing the Indie Scene

At first glance, Sparky Rush: Purrils in Pawsville! Looks like just another childhood game from 1996. You boot it up expecting the familiar, comforting warmth of a classic 16-bit or early 32-bit era platformer. You play as Sparky, a bright-eyed, heroic dog on a seemingly wholesome mission to save his kidnapped friends from the clutches of mischievous felines.

The vibrant pixel art, the bouncy chiptune soundtrack, and the simple “jump-and-collect” mechanics immediately trigger a wave of pure Saturday-morning-cartoon nostalgia.

But don’t let the bright colours and wagging tails fool you. As you dig deeper into Pawsville, you’ll quickly realise that Sparky Rush is masking something much more brilliant, challenging, and modern beneath its retro hood.

A Nostalgia Trip with a Modern Twist

What starts as a straightforward rescue mission rapidly evolves. The developers have masterfully used the “90s mascot platformer” aesthetic as a canvas for subverting player expectations.

While the controls feel as tight and responsive as the best games of the era, the level design introduces clever, mind-bending puzzles and modern physics mechanics that simply wouldn’t have been possible on a 1996 console. The “Purrils” you are fighting against aren’t just simple AI enemies with basic patrol patterns; they employ clever tactics that will force you to rethink your approach to every stage.

    Why It’s Worth Your Time

    • Deceptive Depth: The narrative and world-building take unexpected turns. What starts as a simple “save your friends” plot drops subtle clues and lore that hint at a much larger, surprisingly engaging world.
    • Pixel-Perfect Execution: The art style isn’t just a cheap retro filter. It features gorgeous, fluid animations and a dynamic lighting system that breathes life into Pawsville.
    • The “Just One More Try” Factor: The difficulty curve is perfectly tuned. It respects the challenging nature of 90s gaming without the frustrating, unfair lives-system limitations of the past.

Sparky Rush: Purrils in Pawsville! is a brilliant love letter to the golden age of gaming, wrapped in modern sophistication. Whether you’re a retro enthusiast looking to recapture the magic of 1996 or a modern gamer looking for a tight, inventive platformer, Sparky’s adventure is absolutely worth the download.

  • Under the Hood: Rally Car Mechanic Simulator Shifts Gear for a Major Console Release

Under the Hood: Rally Car Mechanic Simulator Shifts Gear for a Major Console Release

The simulation genre is about to get a lot faster, muddier, and significantly more tactical. Polish development duos Play2Chill S.A. and Atomic Jelly have officially teamed up to bring the intense, high-stakes world of motorsport engineering to life with Rally Car Mechanic Simulator.

While PC players have already been getting their hands dirty on Steam under its initial launch, the big news hitting the paddock is the game’s massive leap to modern systems. Ultimate Games S.A. has taken the wheel to handle the preparation, optimisation, and official release for the console versions, expanding the garage to a whole new audience of living-room grease monkeys.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes when a driver obliterates their suspension on a brutal Scandinavian stage, this is your chance to find out.

The Reality of the Service Park: Gameplay Breakdown

Rally Car Mechanic Simulator isn’t just your standard oil-change sim. It drops you directly into the high-pressure role of a dedicated rally crew chief. You aren’t just working in a pristine, quiet workshop; you are managing time, budgets, and the chaotic aftermath of reckless driving.

    • Authentic Rally Tech: Forget standard sedans. You’ll be tearing down and rebuilding purpose-built racing machines. We are talking high-performance turbos, competition-grade transmissions, complex electronics, and heavy-duty coilover suspensions designed to survive massive jumps.
    • The Special Stage Crunch: The game splits your time between the comfort of your main garage and the frantic, timed repair segments during actual rallies. When the car limps into the service park between stages with unrepairable parts and the clock ticking down, your decision-making will dictate whether your team reaches the podium or DNFs.
    • Deep Team Management: Beyond turning wrenches, you are responsible for forging a championship-winning legacy. Players will need to manage garage funds, expand their workshops with advanced tools (like dynos and custom paint booths), negotiate lucrative sponsor deals, and assemble a top-tier crew.

From PC Success to Console Optimisation

Having already secured a solid reputation among PC simulation purists for its realistic damage modelling, detailed cleaning mechanics, and deep personalisation options, the transition to consoles marks a major milestone.

Thanks to the publishing and porting expertise of Ultimate Games S.A., console players can expect a finely tuned experience optimised for modern hardware. The console versions bring the game’s highly detailed graphics, intricate engine components, and satisfying physics loops to the big screen without losing the mechanical depth the genre demands.

Whether you’re meticulously adjusting stick sensitivity for precision part removal or utilising advanced controller remapping, the jump to consoles ensures that the tactical tension of the service park translates perfectly to a controller.

Rally Car Mechanic Simulator proves that championships aren’t just won on the dirt tracks—they are built, piece by piece, in the garage. Get your toolboxes ready.

  • Digging Deep: PixARK Unveils Massive New Underground Expansion ‘Terracrypt’

Digging Deep: PixARK Unveils Massive New Underground Expansion ‘Terracrypt’

Voxel survival fans, grab your picks and ready your tames. Snail Games USA has officially announced the next major expansion for its sandbox survival hit, and it’s taking us entirely offline—or rather, deep underground.

PixARK: Terracrypt is officially on the horizon, promising to flip the colourful voxel world completely on its head by sending players beneath the surface.

Here is everything we know about the upcoming subterranean adventure.

Welcome to the Underworld: 12 New Biomes to Explore

If you thought you had mastered the surface of PixARK, Terracrypt is here to challenge everything you know. The expansion is set entirely within a massive, sprawling underground ruin.

Instead of just rocky caverns, players will have to survive and adapt to 12 unique new subterranean biomes. Snail Games is teasing that these environments are packed with “strange new wonders,” which likely means brand-new flora, rare resources, dangerous environmental hazards, and—of course—a whole new ecosystem of creatures to tame or fight.

    Steam First, Consoles Close Behind

PC players won’t have to wait long to dive into the deep. PixARK: Terracrypt is launching first on Steam.

But don’t worry if you play on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. Snail Games has confirmed that a full console rollout is scheduled to follow in the months after the PC release. Even better? They are actively targeting platform parity, meaning console players will get the exact same content, updates, and features as their PC counterparts.

    What to expect in Terracrypt:

    • An expansive, interconnected underground ruin to explore.
    • 12 distinct subterranean biomes with unique aesthetics and mechanics.
    • New voxel blocks, items, and crafting recipes tailored for cave survival.
    • Upcoming feature parity across all platforms.

    The Verdict

PixARK has always excelled at blending the hardcore survival mechanics of ARK: Survival Evolved with the creative, blocky freedom of Minecraft. By forcing players into a massive, multi-biome underground labyrinth, Terracrypt looks to inject a fresh dose of claustrophobic tension and exploration into the game.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for an official release date and gameplay trailer. Until then, start prepping your gear—it’s dark down there.

  • From Clicks to Crafting: Why RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the Survival Game We Didn’t Know We Needed

From Clicks to Crafting: Why RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the Survival Game We Didn’t Know We Needed

For 25 years, the name RuneScape has conjured up very specific mental images: clicking on willow trees for hours, running away from the Wilderness Zamorak mages, and asking strangers to trim your armour (please don’t fall for it).

But Jagex is doing something wildly unexpected, and it’s officially time to pay attention. Fresh off the massive announcements at Summer Game Fest 2026, the studio has confirmed that its breakout open-world survival crafting spin-off, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, is officially leaving Steam Early Access and hitting a full 1.0 release on September 15, 2026.

Not only is it coming to PC, but it is making history by launching on PlayStation 5 (as a Day One launch on PS Plus Extra/Premium) and Xbox Series X|S. Yes, you read that right—a RuneScape title is finally debuting on consoles.

If you’re wondering whether this is just a reskinned Valheim or another tedious survival grind, here is why Dragonwilds is shaping up to be one of the most exciting departures the franchise has ever taken.

Welcome to Ashenfall: No Nostalgia Required

The absolute best part about Dragonwilds? You don’t need to know your Zaros from your Guthix to play it.

The game drops you (either solo or in a co-op team of four) onto an entirely new, undiscovered continent named Ashenfall. The lore is fresh, the landscape is rich with untamed “anima” magic, and you play as an original character.

That being said, long-time fans will find plenty of brilliant nods to the franchise’s DNA. You’ll be exploring hand-crafted biomes, completing quests, and battling legendary creatures like Zogres, Black Knights, and the fearsome Garou.

    “Survival-Light” Meets Sorcery

Let’s be honest: some survival games feel more like a second job. Keeping track of calorie intakes, hydration levels, and body temperature can sometimes suck the fun out of exploring.

Jagex has explicitly pitched Dragonwilds as a “survival-light” experience. There are no tedious hunger bars to baby. Instead, the focus is squarely on gathering, building, levelling up your skills, and using a highly unique magic system called Survival Through Sorcery.

Because Ashenfall is bursting with wild magic, you can harness the environment in incredibly fun ways:

    • Need lumber? Don’t just chop—summon a spectral axe to fell an entire grove in seconds.
    • Getting swarmed? Blink out of danger in a cloud of magic.
    • Need resources? Snap your fingers to explode ore veins, or literally conjure a tornado of fish out of a nearby lake.

It takes the classic RuneScape “skilling” grind and turns it into a fast-paced, magical playground.

What’s Coming at Launch? > When the 1.0 version drops this September, it’s not just the base game. It will include the brand-new Scorned Wilderness update alongside all the content from the upcoming Umbral Sands expansion.

The Ultimate Goal: Slaying the God Eater

You aren’t just building a cosy log cabin to admire the scenery. There is a looming threat over Ashenfall: the dragons have awoken.

Your entire progression loop—brewing potions, forging high-tier gear, and unlocking devastating spells—is designed to help you follow a trail of destruction. Your ultimate target? Kuldra the God Eater, a terrifying Dragon Queen who will require serious co-op coordination (and a lot of high-level food) to take down.

    Why It’s Worth Your Time

Having already surpassed 1 million copies sold during its PC Early Access phase, the community-driven roadmap has clearly struck a chord. Jagex has been listening intently to player feedback, polishing the combat, and preparing for a massive multi-platform launch.

Whether you are a seasoned Gielinor veteran looking for a fresh perspective or a survival fan who just wants to blow up iron ore with magic, RuneScape: Dragonwilds deserves a spot on your wishlist before the September madness begins.

  • KingsIsle Goes Noir: ‘The Ghastly Conspiracy’ Raid Finally Hits Wizard101 Consoles

KingsIsle Goes Noir: ‘The Ghastly Conspiracy’ Raid Finally Hits Wizard101 Consoles

If you thought Wizard101 was all bright spell cards, colourful mounts, and whimsical magical schools, think again. KingsIsle Entertainment has officially brought its most gloriously grim, noir-themed content update to consoles, and things are about to get seriously spooky in the Spiral.

Originally launched for PC players, The Ghastly Conspiracy Raid update has officially gone live for Xbox and PlayStation (with a Nintendo Switch release coming down the line). Grab your controllers, assemble your guild, and prepare to step into the shadows—because this isn’t your average walk through Wizard City.

    Step Into “The Heap”

The centre of this update is a beautifully eerie, black-and-white noir location known simply as The Heap. It’s a cold, desolate place where even Death thinks twice about roaming. Partnering up with characters like Dog Tracy and the Shadoe, players are tasked with unravelling a chilling mystery. What is lurking in the freezing darkness? And more importantly, why?

To find out, you’re going to need a lot more than basic spellcasting.

Double the Squad: Wizard101’s First 8-Player Raid

The Ghastly Conspiracy isn’t just a stylistic departure for the game; it’s a mechanical milestone. This marks Wizard101’s first-ever 8-person raid.

Heads Up, Wizards: This requires heavy communication, tight coordination, and flawless execution. It is designed to test even the most hardened, max-level (Level 170) players. If you want to walk away with the exclusive new rewards and titles, you and your guild will need to stand side-by-side and strategize like never before.

To kick off the conspiracy, grab four of your strongest guildmates and track down Gwyn Fellwarden in Dun Dara, Avalon, to begin the introductory quests.

Magic Weaving Rank 4 & More Update Goodies

The console update doesn’t stop at the raid gates. It also bundles in a massive injection of content via the Magic Weaving and More update.

    • Rank 4 Magic Weaving: Console players can now advance their crafting/weaving to Rank 4, unlocking lost magical lore, fresh utility spells (for Storm and Life), new Fusion Formulae (for Balance and Ice), and unique pets/jewels (for Fire, Myth, and Death).
    • Aquila Chronicle Content: Ready to test your muscle? Athena Battle Sight has a brand-new quest line waiting in the Garden of Hesperides, featuring a fight against Sisyphus in both Standard and hardcore Challenge modes. Defeating him rewards players with brand-new, school-specific Immortal spells.
    • The Recycling Bin: Ever accidentally trashed a piece of god-tier gear or released a favourite pet in a late-night haze? The new Recycling Bin feature acts as a safety net, holding deleted items for up to 30 days so you can reclaim them for a bit of gold.

    How to Play

The Spiral has officially expanded its borders. Console players can download the update right now on PlayStation and Xbox. Whether you are a deck-building veteran or a console player looking to dive into an expansive MMORPG for the first time, The Ghastly Conspiracy offers the perfect excuse to rally the squad.
