Your mission just got cancelled — and you’re stuck on a planet that wants you dead. Independent Uruguayan studio Dragon Dropper has officially unveiled Contract Terminated, a retro-styled RPG steeped in the golden age of 1980s gaming. The Steam page is live right now — and launch is scheduled for early 2027.
Stranded. Surrounded. Survival is the Only Job Left.
You lead a squad of mercenaries dropped onto a distant world for what should have been a routine assignment. Then the message hits: your contract is cancelled. No extraction. No explanation. Just you, your team, and a hostile planet where the locals don’t want you there and the local wildlife sees you as lunch.
Now you must explore a vast world map, delve into loot-filled dungeons, scavenge resources, and craft what you need to survive — and somehow find a way home.
Pure 1980s RPG Spirit — Polished for Today
Contract Terminated draws direct inspiration from timeless classics including Ultima, Legacy of the Ancients, and Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday, blending top-down overworld exploration with first-person dungeon crawling and turn-based tactical combat.
