Grab your stone-age weapons — two caveman legends are back. Red Art Games and internal studio Red Art Studios have officially launched Joe & Mac Retro Collection, bringing three beloved 16-bit Data East classics together for the first time on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The official launch trailer is live now to celebrate the release!
Three Classics, One Collection
For the first time ever, the entire Super Nintendo Joe & Mac saga is gathered in one package:
| Game | What It’s All About |
|---|---|
| Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja | The original 1993 arcade hit! Rescue your village’s women from a rival Neanderthal tribe — and bash every dinosaur that stands in your way |
| Congo’s Caper | A wild spin-off starring Congo — swing, leap, and fight through monkey-filled jungles in this colourful platformer |
| Joe & Mac: Lost in the Tropics | The tropical sequel! New weapons, bigger bosses, and a mission to defend the Tiki Village from invaders |
Modern Touches — Same Prehistoric Charm
These are the games you remember — enhanced for today:
- Brand-new Boss Rush Mode — test your skills against every dino-boss in the collection
- Rewind & Save States — fix that tricky jump or save your progress anywhere
- CRT Filter — authentic retro TV glow, or go crisp and modern
- Custom Aspect Ratios — choose your preferred screen style
- Virtual Unboxing — admire original boxes, manuals, and cartridges in digital form
- Local Co-op — Joe & Mac 1 and 2 support 2-player shared-screen play — just like the 90s!
