Dynamic Witch Trials Powered by Offline AI: ‘Hex Judge’ Launches on Steam Today!

If you’ve ever wanted to step into the shoes of a medieval inquisitor, grill suspicious villagers, and decide who will face condemnation before the sun sets, your time has come. Indie developer CheetahTownGames has officially launched its highly anticipated narrative investigation game, Hex Judge, on Steam today, July 16, 2026!

Priced at an accessible $5.99 USD, this indie title brings a groundbreaking technological twist to the dark, tense world of medieval witch trials.

The Ultimate Offline AI Interrogation Experience

At first glance, Hex Judge looks like a beautiful love letter to 1980s retro PC games, complete with atmospheric pixel art and a moody, suspenseful tone. But under the hood lies a highly modern feature that sets it apart from traditional point-and-click detective games.

Instead of navigating static, pre-written dialogue trees, Hex Judge utilises a local Large Language Model (LLM) packaged directly within the game.

What does this mean for players?

    • Fully Offline Play: You don’t need an internet connection or external AI subscriptions to play. The AI processing runs entirely locally on your PC.
    • Dynamic Conversations: The suspects respond organically based on how you phrase your questions, their unique personalities, their hidden secrets, and the rumours spreading through the village.
    • Spot the Lies: You must carefully compare testimonies, seek out contradictions, and observe shiftiness to build cases against the villagers.

    High Replayability and Endless Mystery

No two trials in Hex Judge are ever the same. Each playthrough randomly selects six suspects from a pool of over 30 unique villagers.

The game also features a fully-fledged Villager Editor. If you want to customise your experience, you can edit the names, portraits, ages, and core personalities of the suspects. The built-in AI dynamically adapts to your custom creations, generating brand-new relationship dynamics and procedural, AI-generated epilogues based on your verdicts.

With multiple endings to uncover, every choice you make will shape the ultimate fate of the village.

  • Uncover the Truth: Acclaimed Indie Mystery ‘No Case Should Remain Unsolved’ Hits PS5 This August!

Uncover the Truth: Acclaimed Indie Mystery ‘No Case Should Remain Unsolved’ Hits PS5 This August!

Indie game aficionados and mystery buffs, it’s time to dust off your detective hats. PLAYISM has officially announced that No Case Should Remain Unsolved, the critically acclaimed text-based mystery adventure from leading South Korean indie developer Somi, is making its way to the PlayStation 5 on August 19, 2026!

Already sporting an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with thousands of glowing reviews, this innovative narrative puzzle is finally bringing its jumbled web of lies and memories to PlayStation players.

The Mystery of the Seowon Disappearance

If you haven’t yet experienced this narrative masterpiece on PC or Nintendo Switch, you’re in for an emotionally gripping ride.

The story drops you into a cold case that has haunted retired Senior Inspector Jeon Gyeong for over a decade:

“I remember how surprised I was when I first saw this case. Everyone involved was lying, for one reason or another.”

On February 5, 2012, a little girl named Seowon vanished from a local playground. Despite a massive investigation, the case went completely cold. Twelve years later, a young police officer visits the retired Jeon Gyeong, pleading with her to reexamine the past.

As the memories resurface, one devastating truth becomes absolutely clear: everyone connected to the case was lying.

Unconventional Gameplay: A Jigsaw Puzzle of Human Memory

No Case Should Remain Unsolved isn’t your standard point-and-click adventure. Instead, it plays out like a reading-comprehension jigsaw puzzle.

    • Piece Together the Truth: You are handed 54 jumbled conversation fragments stripped of timestamps, context, and speaker identities.
    • Follow the Keywords: By clicking on specific highlighted words, you stimulate Jeon Gyeong’s memories, uncovering new testimonies.
    • Spot the Contradictions: You must carefully analyse the tone, text, and logic of each statement to match it to the correct speaker and arrange it chronologically.
    • Two Hidden Truths: This tightly paced 2-to-3-hour experience features an incredibly atmospheric, evolving soundtrack by Seongyi Yi and leads to two distinct endings that will leave you absolutely floored.

    Exclusive Merchandise Dropping Same-Day!

To make the August 19th launch even sweeter, PLAYISM has announced they will be dropping the first-ever official merchandise for the title on the same day via the PLAYISM Official Store.

Whether you’re a returning detective looking to grab a physical keepsake or a newcomer ready to crack the case for the first time, mark your calendars for August 19, 2026. This is one investigation you won’t want to leave cold.

  • Can You Solve the Mystery of the Cursed Village?

Can You Solve the Mystery of the Cursed Village?

I just took a deep dive into Tatari, and if you’re a fan of psychological horror, you need to put this on your radar!

For those who haven’t seen it yet, Tatari is an indie horror game heavily inspired by Japanese folklore. You play as a detective called to an abandoned village to investigate a missing person case, but you quickly realise that the laws of reality don’t quite apply here.

    Why it’s worth a play:

    • The Atmosphere: It’s incredibly thick. The game relies on “dread” rather than just constant jump scares.
    • The Puzzles: They are actually clever! You really have to pay attention to your surroundings and the lore to progress.
    • The Story: If you love urban legends and creepy myths, the narrative will keep you hooked until the very end.

It definitely gave me some old-school Silent Hill and Fatal Frame vibes, but with a modern, polished look.

I want to know: What is the ONE game that actually managed to give you nightmares?

Drop your recommendations in the comments—I need something new to play (if I survive this one)!
