But as we prepare to dive back into this incredible animated anthology, there’s one thought that keeps echoing in the Sarlacc pit of my gamer heart: Why isn’t there a video game adaptation yet?

    The previous two volumes of Visions have proven that the Star Wars galaxy is fertile ground for diverse, experimental narratives and art styles. Volume 3, with its return to an all-Japanese studio lineup and sequels to fan-favourites like “The Duel” and “The Ninth Jedi,” only amplifies the sheer potential. This isn’t just TV—it’s a goldmine for interactive storytelling.

    Here’s why a Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Game needs to happen, and what form it should take.

    The Anthology Advantage: A Galaxy of Gameplay

    The core strength of Visions is its anthology format, a structure perfectly suited for gaming. Imagine a single title that offers multiple, distinct gameplay experiences, each inspired by a short from Volume 3:

    • The Ronin’s Revenge (Inspired by “The Duel: Payback”): The original short set a stunning, samurai-inspired tone. A sequel short begs for a Souls-like or Sekiro-inspired action-RPG. Picture parrying blaster bolts, katana-on-lightsaber duels, and exploring a visually striking, monochrome world rendered in inky shadows and stark highlights. The focus would be on precision combat and a desolate, wandering journey.
    • The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope: With a whole spin-off series already announced for “The Ninth Jedi,” the potential for a deeper dive is clear. A game here could be a classic Star Wars RPG. Players could fully customise a Force-sensitive character, choose their lightsaber colour (or lack thereof!), and explore multiple planets, gathering allies and choosing a path for the re-emerging Jedi Order in the shadows of the Empire.
    • A “Twin Suns” Co-op Adventure: Imagine a short focused on two characters, perhaps one Dark Side and one Light, where the gameplay is built around asymmetrical co-op mechanics. The light-sider focuses on defence and Force pushes, while the dark-sider unleashes aggressive Force lightning and telekinesis. It would be a true test of cooperative strategy.

    This approach—a single game featuring multiple, stylistically unique “mini-games” or separate story campaigns—would capture the spirit of the Visions anthology.
