Beyond the Threshold — Tape 101: Liminal Descent Descends onto Steam!

Independent creators Suversa and Nana of Double H Productions, in partnership with Human Qube Games, have officially released their atmospheric psychological horror — Tape 101: Liminal Descent — available right now on PC via Steam.

    What Lies Between?

Tape 101: Liminal Descent invites you into a world where corridors loop, rooms repeat, and reality itself seems to shift beneath your feet. This isn’t a haunted house of jump scares and monsters — it’s something far more intimate: a journey through liminal spaces shaped by the five stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance) drawn from the Kübler-Ross model.

Your Only Tool: An RC Car

You’re unarmed — and that’s intentional. Your lifeline is a camera-equipped remote-controlled car, sent where you cannot go: through vents, under doors, into the dark corners of the architecture. Scout ahead, trigger mechanisms, and uncover paths hidden in plain sight.

    Core Features

    • Liminal Architecture — Endless beige corridors, familiar-yet-unsettling rooms, and environments that twist scale and perception
    • RC Car Gameplay — See through its eyes, navigate tight spaces, and solve puzzles from a perspective you’ll never reach yourself
    • Puzzle-First Horror — No combat, no enemies — just observation, patience, and understanding the logic of a world built on emotion
    • Five Stages, Five Chapters — Each area embodies a phase of grief; the deeper you go, the more personal the descent becomes
    • Crafted With Heart — A three-year labour of love from the two-person studio: Suversa leads development, Nana shapes the art and story

    About the Team

Double H Productions is an indie studio built by two people making something deeply personal. They describe the game as an exploration of grief through horror — a way to process loss by walking through spaces that feel both familiar and impossibly wrong.

The response so far? Very Positive demo reviews on Steam, with players praising the atmosphere, pacing, and hauntingly immersive design.

    Availability

    • Platform: PC via Steam
    • Release Date: Out now
    • Languages: English (full audio) + wide subtitle support including French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and more

    Step Into the In-Between

If you’re drawn to atmospheric horror that lingers in the mind rather than just startling you — if you find unease in the uncanny and depth in the quiet — Tape 101: Liminal Descent awaits. The descent has begun.

Drive into the Silence: Psychological Liminal Horror ‘Tape 101: Liminal Descent’ Set to Launch This September

Indie horror enthusiasts have a captivating new title to mark on their calendars. Solo technical developer Suversa and his fiancée Nana—the creative art director and writer behind Double H Productions—have partnered with Human Qube Games to officially announce the release date for their psychological liminal horror game, Tape 101: Liminal Descent.

The highly anticipated title will officially launch on PC via Steam on September 18, 2026.

A Love Story Behind the Liminal Terror

At the heart of Tape 101: Liminal Descent is a passionate indie collaboration. Developed as a passion project by engaged couple Suversa and Nana, the game showcases how intimate, vision-driven indie projects can deliver deeply unique gaming experiences. Blending Suversa’s technical programming skills with Nana’s compelling narrative design and eerie artistic vision, Double H Productions has crafted an environment that feels as emotionally heavy as it is unsettling.

Grief as Geography: What to Expect from Tape 101

Unlike traditional survival horror games that rely on jump scares or relentless monsters chasing you down infinite corridors, Tape 101: Liminal Descent takes a quieter, psychological approach. Players find themselves stranded in an unsettling, intermediate reality—a world filled with endless beige corridors, quiet tiled walkways, and forgotten office spaces that feel strangely familiar yet terrifyingly wrong.

Here are the key elements setting the game apart:

    • An RC Car as Your Lifeline: Without weapons or superhuman abilities, your main tether to reality is a small, remote-controlled car equipped with a camera. Players must navigate this fragile mechanical tool through tight vents, under locked doors, and into unreachable spaces to trigger switches, retrieve items, and solve complex spatial puzzles.
    • Architecture Built on Loss: The game’s world is physically structured around the Kübler-Ross model—the five stages of grief (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance). Each chapter transforms psychological trauma into physical geography, forcing players to navigate emotional landscapes made real.
    • Observation Over Combat: Designed as a puzzle-first exploration game, progression relies on attention to detail, spatial logic, and patience rather than twitch reflexes or combat mechanics.
