Out on a storm-swept island, the lamp is dead. The waves are rising. And the night won’t end. Clairvoyage: The Lighthouse — the haunting debut from Finnish solo studio Volpe Software — launches today on Steam, casting players into an endless cycle of dread, discovery, and desperation where every 8-minute loop brings you closer to the truth… or deeper into the dark.
THE SHIPWRECK THAT KEEPS HAPPENING
You wake alone on a rain-lashed island after dark. The great lighthouse at its heart stands silent — no beam, no warning, no hope. A vessel is bearing down on the rocks, its fate seemingly sealed. Yet this catastrophe has already happened. And it will happen again. And again.
Something ancient and unseen has woven the island into a time loop, trapping the night in repetition. You are the latest to step into the lighthouse keeper’s boots — and the last chance to stop the tragedy. The previous keeper left behind journals, notes, and fragments of a mind fraying at the edges. Follow his trail, piece together what broke here, and why — then find a way to relight the beacon before the ship strikes.
But you are not alone. Shadows move in the dark. They hunt you across the island, drawing closer with every moment you linger unshielded. Your lantern is your lifeline — a fragile pool of safety in a world that wants you gone.
EVERY LOOP MAKES YOU SMARTER — NOT STRONGER
Clairvoyage: The Lighthouse plays unlike almost any horror you’ve known. There are no combat skills to unlock, no weapons to upgrade, no stats to grind. You do not grow more powerful — you simply see more clearly:
- The island never changes — your understanding does. Every loop reveals new details, new connections, new routes. Where once you fled blindly, you’ll soon stride with purpose, knowing exactly where to go and what to carry
- Physics-driven interaction means you reach out, pick up, carry, and operate — nothing is handed to you. You’ll align mechanisms, place fuel, turn cranks, and trace the keeper’s final hours through the objects he left behind
- 8-minute cycles keep the tension razor-sharp. The clock is always ticking. Fail, and you return to the start — but with everything you’ve learned still intact
- A one-sitting experience — crafted to be completed in roughly 1–3 hours. No filler, no padding, just a tight, atmospheric descent into mystery and dread
A SOLO VISION FROM THE NORTH
Clairvoyage: The Lighthouse is the work of Niilo Luhtanen, founder of Helsinki-based Volpe Software. Stepping from a background in film and television into game development, he built the entire experience alone — driven by a desire to bring cinematic pacing and emotional weight to short-form indie horror.
“I wanted to make something that feels like a film you step inside — focused, immersive, and complete in a single evening. You don’t need hours of free time to get lost in this story.” — Niilo Luhtanen, Volpe Software
This is also the first entry in the broader Clairvoyage anthology — a planned series of standalone, self-contained horror experiences, each set in a different time and place, sharing a hidden overarching narrative that unfolds slowly across releases.

Clairvoyage: The Lighthouse doesn’t just ask you to solve a puzzle — it asks you to understand a grief. To see where one man fell, and to stand where he could not. Each loop brings you closer: to the truth, to the solution, and to the moment the light returns.
Clairvoyage: The Lighthouse — out now on Steam. The ship is approaching. The shadows are watching. And the lighthouse is waiting.
