Roots, resilience, and relentless greenery — with a side of smashing orcs. Australian indie studio Chaos Theory Games has just launched the free public demo for Oaks vs Orcs, a roguelike strategy autobattler where your forest kingdom grows, evolves, and fights back — and it’s live right now on Steam.
Grow. Flow. Overpower.
Oaks vs Orcs turns nature itself into your strongest weapon. You’ll expand your realm across a tactical grid, placing trees, defences, and special tiles — then bend the river through your most powerful zones to create cascading chains of bonuses. Design the perfect layout, and watch your synergies stack to absurd levels.
When the orc hordes come chopping — and they come in waves — your army takes over. Sit back and watch your forest fight automatically: towering guardians, spore-burst traps, and ancient treants tear through the lumber-hungry invaders. Every run plays differently, every strategy evolves, and the next build is always more ridiculous than the last.
